Your feelings aren't unique.

You won't feel something that hasn't been felt before by anyone as insignificant as you know you should feel. The significance of feelings is that they're only significant to ourselves. You'll never be the first to fall in love, to drag through depression, or carve out a coarse smile at the sight of a smirk from a stranger.

It's selfish to assume that no-one knows what you're going through, a disservice to anyone who has ever faced the problems/joy/horror of realising that you've turned into an empty shell of a human. Stamping a feeling as your own cuts you off from emotion entirely. To think that you've felt something no-one has ever felt before doesn't make you a person of more emotional capacity; it makes you less of a human. You're severing yourself from the only true link you'll ever know.

But go ahead.
